The hardness of nylon rods depends on factors such as the type of material, manufacturing process and heat treatment method, and is usually evaluated by indicators such as Dulittle hardness value (HRC) or Rockwell hardness value.


Material hardness difference: nylon rod material hardness is different, where is the specific performance? Nylon 6 and nylon 66 usually have high hardness and strength and are suitable for applications requiring wear resistance and stiffness, such as the manufacture of bearings and mechanical parts. Nylon 11 and nylon 12 are relatively soft and easier to process, and are suitable for manufacturing parts with high heat and corrosion resistance requirements. POM plastic is hard, while PA6 plastic is moderate in hardness.


Manufacturing process hardness differences: The hardness of nylon rods will also be affected by different manufacturing processes. The tensile nylon rod has relatively high hardness, excellent mechanical strength and stiffness due to the use of tensile forming technology. The extruded nylon rod is relatively soft and easy to process.


Effect of heat treatment method on hardness: The hardness of nylon rod is also affected by heat treatment method. In the heat treatment process, by increasing the temperature of the material, certain crystallization or decrystallization changes occur, so as to change the hardness and toughness of the material. Nylon rod is usually heat treated by means of thermal precipitation and thermal precipitation pressure, which can effectively improve the hardness and wear resistance of the material.
