Select appropriate processing technology and tools

POM plate has a certain brittleness, so it is necessary to choose the appropriate processing technology and tools. Sharp cutting tools should be used when cutting, and the cutting speed and feed speed should be controlled to avoid cracks and burrs. When drilling, a drill with high hardness and reasonable tooth shape should be selected, and appropriate coolant should be used for lubrication and cooling.

Control process temperature and humidity

POM board in the process of processing will be affected by temperature and humidity, the temperature is too high will lead to softening of the plate, and the humidity is too high, easy to make the plate water absorption, expansion, deformation and so on. Therefore, in the processing process should control the temperature and humidity of the processing environment, the general standard processing temperature is 20℃-25℃, and the humidity is 50%-60%.

Pay attention to prevent static electricity

POM board is easy to generate static electricity, so in the processing process should choose the appropriate processing tools and environment, as far as possible to reduce the possibility of static electricity generation, such as the contact area of the processing tool should be minimized with the POM board contact, the processing process should use ESD eliminator and other anti-static equipment.

Maintain surface finish

The surface finish of the POM board will affect the aesthetics and mechanical properties of the product, so the surface finish should be maintained during the processing. For example, pay attention to the wear degree of the tool when cutting, and regularly replace and maintain the tool; The temperature and pressure of the mold should be controlled during molding to achieve the expected molding effect.
